The Texas Longhorns spared no expense in their pursuit of No. 1 overall recruit Arch Manning this summer. During Manning’s official recruitment visit to Austin in June, the university spent close to $280,000, according to The Athletic, which obtained receipts and expense invoices with open records requests. Arch Manning is heading to Texas. The five-star quarterback tweeted Thursday that he was verbally committing to the Longhorns. Manning is the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning and the top-rated recruit in the high school class of 2023 according to Rivals. Less than two weeks after Georgia beat Alabama in the national championship game, both Georgia’s Kirby Smart and Alabama’s Nick Saban have continued their pursuit of prized 2023 quarterback Arch Manning by attending Manning’s basketball games.
