Mike Trout‘s status as the best MLB player of his generation remains intact, but injuries have become a concern for the Los Angeles Angels star. Future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols is being released by the Los Angeles Angels, the team announced on Thursday. The news was first reported by MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.  Pujols is officially being designated for assignment, which means he’s being immediately removed from the team’s 40-man roster as a prelude to his eventual release. HOUSTON — Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout was scratched from the lineup on Friday night after being hit by a pitch on the left elbow a night before. Manager Joe Maddon said he expects Trout to return for Saturday’s game. The team said the three-time AL MVP had a bruised left elbow after being plunked in the fourth inning on Thursday night.
