Dodgers beat Braves 4-3 in NLCS Game 7

It took seven games, a patchwork pitching plan, two comebacks, one in the series and one in Game 7, plus a massive Cody Bellinger home run — but the Los Angeles Dodgers are headed back to the World Series. Now the fun begins. And now the real pressure is on. This Dodgers team, after adding Mookie Betts in the offseason, was the World Series favorite. Anything less than a World Series win will be a disappointment to many, but the Dodgers are now four wins away from their first championship… Source link

Top UK competition official threatens action against Google and Facebook

The UK competition regulator has told the government to set up a digital regulator within a year or his agency will take action against Facebook and Google. Andrea Coscelli, chief executive of the Competition and Markets Authority, told the Financial Times he was preparing to mount investigations into the two internet giants if the government did not act fast enough to curb their powers. In his clearest statement of intent yet, Mr Coscelli said the watchdog would give the… Source link

Aaron Rodgers, Ndamukong Suh tension resurfaces

Aaron Rodgers and Ndamukong Suh do not like each other. The former NFC North rivals have plenty of history from Suh’s five seasons in the division with the Detroit Lions. They picked up where they left off on Sunday as Suh’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers rolled past Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers. The Bucs cruised to a 38-10 win thanks in large part to a swarming Tampa Bay defense. The Bucs piled up five sacks as Rodgers spent much of his day in the dirt. Suh delivered some of the damage, and the two… Source link

Baker Mayfield’s ugly outing isn’t time to panic for Browns

Amid a lopsided road loss to a respected AFC North rival on Sunday, the Cleveland Browns subjected their fans to a pair of brutal interceptions, a complete inability to get a defensive stop when needed and, yes, another Odell Beckham Jr. end-game tantrum. In other words, the Browns’ 38-7 loss to Pittsburgh felt a whole heck of a lot like any number of defeats from 2019.  Or 2018.  Or 2017.  And so on. Browns fans are used to melting down by now, given the horrific football they’ve been… Source link

Oil Steady Near $41 Before OPEC+ Meets to Assess State of Market

(Bloomberg) — Oil was steady near $41 a barrel in New York before an OPEC+ meeting to assess the state of the market as demand comes under pressure once again from a resurgent coronavirus. Tua Tagovailoa had a “very special moment” on field after NFL debut

After the Dolphins’ 24-0 win over the Jets came to an end, reporters at the game shared pictures of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on the field by himself after everyone else went to the locker room. Tagovailoa was on a video call with his parents, who weren’t at Sunday’s game to see their son play in the NFL for the first time. Tagovailoa completed two passes for nine yards after replacing Ryan Fitzpatrick for the final two minutes of the game. “I think it was a very special moment for me… Source link

Tom Brady, Bucs, crush Aaron Rodgers, Packers

Aaron Rodgers made the rarest of mistakes on Sunday. The Green Bay Packers quarterback threw a sideline pass intended for Davante Adams on a third-and-10 early in the second quarter. Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean jumped the route, snagged the pass and returned the interception for the first Buccaneers touchdown of the day. It would not be their last. The third career pick-six thrown by Rodgers and his first interception of 2020 started an avalanche of Tampa Bay scoring as the Buccaneers… Source link

Google kills off app that let you find loved ones’ location during an emergency

Google will discontinue its emergency location sharing app Trusted Contacts in December, and has already yanked it from the Google Play Store. Instead, it’s directing existing users to try similar but less helpful features in Google Maps. That’s a shame, because while Trusted Contacts could let you find a family member even if they don’t respond (say, if they are unconscious or in danger), Google Maps requires them to proactively broadcast their location to you. The announcement was… Source link

Week 6 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers: Derrick Henry dominates

For all of his accomplishments, Derrick Henry has been in a constant battle for respect.  Despite his Heisman Trophy win in 2015, he wasn’t selected until the 45th pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. Despite his obvious skills, the Titans evenly split touches between Henry and Dion Lewis back in 2018. And even after a monstrous 2019 season, when Henry won a rushing title and finished as the No. 2 back in fantasy football, he was mildly disrespected in 2020 draft rooms.  Consider the NFFC Draft… Source link

Early Fantasy football waiver wire pickups for NFL Week 7

We’ll follow up with Andy Behrens’ full version of pickups on Monday, but first up, some early options to consider ahead of Week 7 waiver claims. Let it be known that Andy Behrens has suggested Tim Patrick in this space before! Once again Patrick dominated in looks, catches, and yards for the Broncos, turning just four receptions into 101 yards. That will make it three straight games with at least four catches for Patrick, not to mention 100+ yard-games in two out of three and a score in… Source link
